Who has all the LMO's in Alberta?

After being sacked by H&R (after 16 months) , a friend of mine is struggling to find an employer with LMO's and may have to return to the UK with his family to become another failed immigrant thanks to the Canadian Governments total lack of control against rogue companies, who employ foreign workers.

Even if a job is found, then all the money paid to VRV immigration is lost as the process of PR has to ALL OVER AGAIN!

Be aware, if you are sacked by any company in Canada whilst you are a Temporary Foreign Worker, you are screwed, as long as the company claim 'just cause', then there does not appear to be any burden of proof required...in other words, you can be finished summarily anytime.

Don't think it can't happen to you, and if you have moved your family to Canada, and can't find employment you WILL have to leave the country, as the welfare benefits are not readily available for TFW's.

Have you been sacked by H&R, and managed to find another job?

Do you know anyone who has LMO's for truckers (with 16 months experience) in Canada?

ALL replies will be treated with confidence... mickfly AT gmail.com

I know Westcan in Calgary are looking for drivers and have LMO's But I'm pretty sure you will need fuel experience , It was was worst nightmare getting fired whilst still being on TWP and I know off drivers were this as happened in the past But somehow they have managed to stay in Canada so they must be ways around it.
Hope things work out for him .

hi Mick, i have recently had a telephone interveiw with Siemens in Saskatoon with a view to starting at Kindersley in Calgary. the nice lady (Alison) was very helpful and told me they have provisional LMO's for all of their companies in Canada ( all different provinces). I fly out next friday and have a formal half day interview on the 12th May with a start date as soon as they can get the paperwork sorted out.
I have also spoken to the main guy at Kindersley when i was out there last year , his name is Layton Sergent (operations manager) really nice guy. Maybe a call in person or on the phone to eiter of these people may come up with something for your friend out there. Ill report bcak in 3 weeks when i get home.
Hope this helps

take care and stay safe

Brian

Thanks for the comments and e-mails, but still no LMO joy in Alberta (plenty of hollow promises, but no start dates), which means his family may have to leave Canada after receiving no help from the Gov't which allowed them to be brought over in the first place.

The Government of Canada must be so proud.

One prospective employer says they have received 28 enquiries from families in the same situation, including four more H&R driver who may have to take their families back to an uncertain future in the UK!

Just hope the management at H&R can be proud of there selves ;-)

YAY a few less limey brits in Canada!

Anonymous said...

What an idiot! Does the above retard know the history as to the reason of calling Brits "limey"? Limes were on the boats to prevent scabies when the Brits came over to populate Canada! If anonymous looks back at their family history their Grandparents we probably British or maybe the a** hole is a Brit pretending to be Canadian. How would the idiot feel if their family were in this position, good luck to whoever wrote it as if they have an attitube like that they must be a very bitter person.

Anonymous said...

I'm bitter?? I'm not the one whining and complaining and posting a website to bash a company that had every right to fire the dickhead. Please...

Actually alot of our ancestors were french, not british. You're thinking of the US. The french have always been here, not brits. As for a job for your friend, he must have done something wrong to get into that position from H&R. Those people hire anybody. But there is a bunch more companies out there that will hire him probably, just look around even the smaller companies.

LOL so you are a Brit wanting to be a Canadian! Whose whining and complaining? I am not the one who wrote this blog just simply replied to the immature comment made. H&Rs reputation is so tainted and if we knew the circumstances it would probably compound the bad reputation H&R have.

He is definatly just a bitter person whom has to post a website about a company that fired him for being lazy and just plain hard to deal with. Why would ANY company want ANYONE like that. A person does not get fired if they are doing their job?

Anonymous said...

Whoever the person is is if full of crap and whoever they are getting their information from is full of crap too. To be quite honest its not even worth a reply but it has made me laugh at the crap people are fed and believe it.

"Lazy and just plain hard to deal with" is that Lyndon or most of the dispatchers and management at H&R that he has just described?

Anonymous said...

I have never had a problem with either of those people. MANY people have come across the water and have made very good lives here. You seem to blame Lyndon, dispatch, Dave F, and many people. Is it all of them or is it you perhaps? Like i said, if you we're doing your job and what was ecpected of you, you never would have gotten fired. As i said, who gets fired for doing their job? U r simply bitter, childish and immature to keep on with this "Blame game". I understand you are upset with what has happened, and sulk about it, so just take your baseball and bat and go play in another field where you can get away with your antics.

The last poster (68.147.229.155) seems to think the author of this blog got fired, I didn't.

I was simply asking, on behalf of someone who was fired, whether there are any companies with LMO's in Alberta right now, and apart from the sensible, helpful comments it seems that a Canadian commentator is deciding that someone is a 'dickhead', plain lazy and hard to deal with

You also said in an earlier post "stay away Brits" so why don't you make your mind up? Do you want them to make "very good lifes here", or stay away?
Are you happy to see Brits doing Canadian truck driving jobs and accepting no layover or detention pay at H&R?

Why not make yourself known, instead of being an anonymous coward?

Calgary area coward: 68.147.229.155

H&R are recruiting in July in the UK.
if you have a chance to work for some one else DOIT.dont bring the wife and kids for them to be used against you.
its not a holiday,make a sensible decision and keep away.choose other company's.
and those that have been caught out by you wanting a chance over here.scream at you local provincial gov department that administers this program.
Remember if they dont give family allowance.its not time for the wife and kids to join you..great blog

Mick I have to write a comment here even though it has nothing to do with this post. I find it so funny that the people who constantly shot you down and anybody else who made what was deemed "negative" comments about H&R are now backing those who have left H&R and are thinking of doing the same. I wish people would realise this is NOT a malicious blog with bitter people downing the company but in fact the truth is being told by either current or ex drivers and they are only wanting to allow prospective new employees to read the real truth about H&R so that can seriously think about what they are doing.

Any Truck drivers with at least 3 years Canadian/US driving experience can forward their resumes to punj@kttransport.ca or Fax: 403-272-3339.

LMO's are offered, insurance will only insure 3 years or more experience though.

This is for long haul thru Canada and the Southern US. And will be team Drivers.

Please send your resume, drivers abstract and references to Punj@kttransport.ca or 403-272-3339

My Dad was a truck driver for a company in Lloydminster, AB. The job was fine and everything but his employers had no liking for foreign workers and most of them were/are from the UK with LMO's. It's not an easy process to find another job when your restricted by all the red tape.
My dad found a couple of companies in Alberta/Saskatewan that had LMO's.He applied and got offered jobs but its the government and how long it takes to process new applications that takes the biscuit. By this time my dad was out of work (he wasn't alone others from the same company were too) with NO money coming in and our savings were slowly dwindling away.I believe that the Government has no real help for Immigrants who go throught all the right channels to get to canada.
My family was in the same situation as your friend and we have moved back to UK now but it's no better the future is uncertain!

I have to say i Laugh at the comments which say a story like this is so untrue and doesn't happen. well either you lucky enough to get a decent employer or your a canadian who don't like immigrants but are happy enough for us to do the jobs you 'Dudes' don't want.
